Poetry

Naked Eyes: Reflecting the Human Spirit

2015

Our work focuses on capturing the transient soul of humanity in poetry and photography. It captures life through the eyes of those in their own culture yet challenges the reader to view life from different perspectives and question the way we interpret the world. We strive to represent the universal voice of wisdom, the silent cry of victims and the song of the living earth.

Literacy

Teaching Speaking to Adolescents

2017

Considering the increase in the number of English learners (ELs) in US schools, content and language teachers must collaborate to ensure that ELs are able to apply their knowledge of the academic language that they encounter in all classroom settings across the curriculum. ELs must master various linguistic components of language orally so that they are effectively able to cite and analyze evidence from texts to support claims; ask and respond to text‐based questions; construct claims using clear reasoning and evidence; and interpret and synthesize information from a variety of resources during academic discourse.
